Rebecca Brice, called Bec, keeps the general store in Crick's Bend.1 The store is a barn converted and attached to a house, with tools, nails and horseshoes on its shelves and fresh bread at the back.21

Session 5
She recognized Hazel from her visit a few days earlier. The laminated pastries Hazel had come back for were sold out, as they usually go early in the day, so Hazel bought a loaf of bread for two anvils instead and was told there would be more pastries in the morning.2
Session 6
Hazel was waiting outside when Brice unlocked the store at opening the next morning, and the door caught Hazel in the face as it swung out. Brice offered to take a look at it and was turned down. The first batch of the day was on the shelves: loaves of bread, biscuits, hardtack and six or seven folded pastries of laminated dough. Told they were for Temerity’s homecoming, Brice said Temerity could have stopped by herself.3
Hazel offered a crown for seven pastries. Brice told her that was far too much and charged five embers, wrapped each one in waxed paper, added a loaf of bread for two anvils and put the lot in a cloth sack. She remarked that Hazel had bought out her entire first batch, and was glad to hear the pastries were going to good people.3
Session 9
Rhysaene came in for breakfast just after opening on 29 Coldrise, 1714 PSF. Brice had not seen her before. She sold her bread and laminated pastries for an ember, and Rhysaene paid two to help a family business.1 Brice introduced herself as Rebecca, called Bec by everyone. She told Rhysaene that Temerity likes the pastries, like everyone else in town, and comes in for bread for dinner with the Kembles or Wellby Emberthumb and for fishing tackle.1 She added more pastries and wrapped the lot in paper tied with twine.1
