Gavril Valerius was Lantern Commander of the Order of the Lantern before the current one, and is the father of Marcus Valerius, whom he disowned.1 He is no longer in the Order, but he has considerable resources, and is known to be ruthless.1

Silas Wintermist told Iva on 2 Nightdeep, 1714 PSF, that Gavril had taken a great interest in his disowned son’s name turning up again, on forged documents that Julia Valerius was investigating. “You don’t want him on your path,” Silas said.1
