Margaret Fletcher lives in Silverthorn, in a house set a couple of hundred feet apart from the rest of the village.1 She is the widow of Douglas Fletcher.1

A farmer the party helped on the road north said that a man who had moved out of Crick's Bend to farm near Silverthorn had gone missing two days earlier, and that his wife was worried about him.2
Session 8
By the morning of 28 Coldrise, 1714 PSF, Margaret had been looking for her husband for a couple of days, and Luma saw her from Rhysaene’s back pacing her porch.1 The party had concluded that the Sorrowsworn they killed in the forest the night before was Doug, and decided she should be told he was dead without being told how.1
Iva came to her door disguised as a young Light Warden, carrying a lantern and wearing an Order of the Lantern tabard, with a forged letter under the Order’s seal. Margaret saw the lantern and the tabard and asked what she could do for him in the manner of someone pretending she did not already know. Iva handed her the letter, said she was sorry and turned to go. “Really?” said Margaret. Iva said she did not know the circumstances, but knew what had happened, and was truly sorry for her loss. Margaret broke the seal, read that Doug had been found dead in the woods and purified on the spot because of his wounds, said “Doug’s dead” twice, and asked where he had been and what had happened. Iva said only that other Wardens had found him past the town limits. Margaret read the letter again, said she had hoped he was not dead when he did not come home, thanked the Warden and told him to go. She did not answer when Iva told her to let the Light Wardens know if she needed anything. She went down on her knees and wept.1
