Sterling Sovereign

The Sterling Sovereign is a restaurant and inn in the Hearth Wall district of Argentum, near the Canal Markets on the south side of the district.¹ It is a large three-story stone building, probably the finest establishment of its kind outside the heart of the city.¹

Description

The first floor is an open restaurant with private rooms for hire.²¹ A private room cost five crowns in 1714 PSF.¹ The Sovereign is always looking for bartenders and servers, and the inn needs housekeepers, maids and bellhops. A server earns a couple of silver a week.¹ Its drinks run from very expensive dwarven whiskey to cheaper ones.¹ Kessel works front of house.¹

History

Session 4

Rhysaene brought Iva and Hazel here for drinks on the evening of 25 Coldrise, 1714 PSF. Luma was already inside sketching, having tracked them with her maps, and the party took a private dining room where they told each other what they could do.²

Session 9

The party met here on the evening of 29 Coldrise, 1714 PSF, and took a private room. Hazel asked Kessel for work and was given an interview for a server’s position a few days later.¹ Over dinner Luma hired the rest of the party as security for a survey of the sealed vaults under the city, and altered Iva’s birth certificate.¹

Session 14

Hazel came for her interview for a barmaid’s job around noon on 1 Nightdeep, 1714 PSF, and waited about twenty minutes in the private room the party usually rented.³ A self-important half-elven woman in a deep green dress trimmed in silver came in, and let slip a look of “who let this person into this place” before covering it with a polite smile. Hazel excused herself to the restroom and slipped out under the tables unseen.³ That evening Luma noted that the Sovereign and the Sterling Timber Yard both carry the Sterling name.³
