The Stacks is a small bar in a dingy part of the southern Hearth Wall in Argentum. Beneath it is the meeting place of the Unbound.1 It belongs to Riswynn Deepdraft, though few know it, and Maris Kettle, who tends bar, passes as the owner.1 Not many people go there.1
Description
A one-story building with its front window covered and a bookshelf painted on its sign.1 Inside it is dim and smells of old parchment, old books and a little mildew, and of ale and food not recently cooked. Half-empty shelves of books in various states of disrepair line the walls.1 It serves only cheap whiskey and ale.1
Basement
A bookshelf in a side room swings open onto a stair down to a basement laid out like a bookshop, with a table of open books and a big map in the middle.1 Heavy books must be moved onto pressure plates in the main room, which sit at the far right end of their rows. In Nightdeep 1714 PSF the combination, from left to right, was blue, red, yellow, green, brown. It changes from time to time.1 Riswynn designed the lock.1
