Unbound

The Unbound are a group of citizens of Argentum, mostly archivists from the Silver Archives and the Bureau of Infrastructure & Mapping, who believe the Synod of the Silver Flame is lying about the city’s history.¹ They meet in a hidden basement under the Stacks.¹ Only some of them use the name, and Amber Deepdraft would not pass it around.¹

Beliefs

The Unbound do not claim to know the truth. They have seen too many inconsistencies in the official records, too much scrutiny over mundane procedures, especially at the Vaultsmiths, and too many people losing their jobs, or worse, for correcting the records.¹ They believe the history is not just poorly recorded but actively false.¹ Amber suspects that the Elder Exodus was meant to remove the people who could remember the history being lied about.¹ The minting vaults may be the most secure place in the city, and they want to know why.¹

The Unbound sometimes pay for information, and pay couriers to carry sensitive material discreetly.¹
